Divorce
We offer services for both contested divorces and uncontested matters. No two divorces
are alike. We appreciate that your divorce is unique to you and will provide you with
tailored case strategies with you, honoring your objectives throughout the process.
Texas allows no-fault and fault-based divorces:
- No-fault: “Insupportability”
- Fault-based: Includes adultery, cruelty, abandonment, felony conviction, living
- apart for three years, or confinement in a mental institution.

Property Division
Texas is a community property state. This means any property acquired during the
marriage is characterized as community, regardless of whose name the property is in. Often times, an Inventory and Appraisement is exchanged to ensure that each party is informed of the value of each asset and debt of the community. We will help provide guidance on how to classify property and negotiate a property division that meets your needs.
Child Custody
In a divorce with children, child custody orders are reached by agreement through mediation or by the Judge at a hearing. Custody orders include apportioning the exclusive and shared rights and duties each parent, including decision making power regarding issues such as medical decisions to educational decisions.
In Texas, the best interests of the child are weighed to determine parenting time, allocation of rights and duties and which parent shall be primary conservator. Another component to child custody orders, is possession and access order. Whether agreed or determined by the Court, this focuses on when each parent will have possession of the child.
Texas has statutory standard possession orders, but you and your attorney can negotiate for a modified possession schedule, custom tailoring the needs of your child and each party’s schedule. While the divorce process can be emotional, our team will work compassionately with you at every stage to promote the very best outcome for you and your children.

Is Mediation Right for You?
Mediation is ideal for couples willing to work together to resolve disputes outside of court. While not all cases may be suitable for mediation—such as those involving domestic violence or severe power imbalances—it remains a preferred method for many families seeking a fair and less contentious resolution.
